UPDATE: I'm sure by now you probably know if you've already flipped the tube on that your channels are safe and sound. TimeWarner and Viacom reached an agreement about an hour before deadline. Read the statement here.

So apparently as the ball drops tonight to ring in the new year, all TimeWarner Cable subscribers, emphasis on ALL, will lose 19 channels from their cable line up. Viacom and TimeWarner have failed to come to an agreement that would allow Viacom's MTV Networks which include the following channels: Comedy Central, CMT: Pure Country, Logo, Palladia, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick 2, Nicktoons, Spike, The N, TV Land, Vh1, Vh1 Classic, and Vh1 Soul. If you just can't live without wondering if the fat chick in your neighborhood will be actually get "Made" into a Big Mac or even Spike's UFC series, you're basically fucked. I personally don't watch enough of these channels to care, however I fully understand the impact of what this means to viewers who do.

It's a constant back and forth between Viacom and TimeWarner and neither wants to be seen as the bad guy. As of this post Viacom had this to say:

"Time Warner Cable’s continued rhetoric and posturing is disappointing and unproductive. We have made it clear that we welcome a credible and meaningful discussion that respects our viewers and the value our programming brings to Time Warner Cable. We remain ready and willing to engage. It’s time for serious talk – before the viewers become the victims."

I can't wait to see what comes of this. DeadLine Hollywood Daily has the scoop and have been updating fairly regularly throughout the day, so keep an eye on their site for anything new. To be honest I'm surprised this is the first I've heard of this. Well actually my girlfriend gave me the heads up and upon researching it I found out some more details. You have failed me yet again KFOX. Maybe if Ben Swann was on the case it would be a different story, that guy can move fucking montains, or sidewalks at least.
